All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your obligations for that specific rental period. Should there be any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria

A valid driving licence suited to the vehicle category is necessary, along with identification that confirms your current address. Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Ashington office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are usually collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document the state of the car. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental. A refueling fee will apply if the fuel level is lower upon return. Late returns may incur extra fees; please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are liable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms

Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, so reviewing these is prudent. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless you opt for further coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Note that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous driving is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Additionally, using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving outside of specified geographical boundaries without authorization are violations of our terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Ashington will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in these regions.
